“I had the pleasure of meeting Meleny Thomas at a mentoring event for teen girls in April of 2014 entitled “I’m a G.L.A.M- Glorious Lady Anointed for Ministry- Girl.” Meleny has such a warm and compassionate spirit. She spoke with passion and confidence and captured the attention of the young ladies in the group with inspiring messages and such positive affirmations. Meleny almost immediately established an environment of trust and open dialogue. You could hear from the laughter, questions and discussion that the young ladies were genuinely interested and inspired. Meleny is such a positive role model for young women and just an all around genuine and beautiful woman.
I loved her message and approach to teaching and mentoring and I decided to check out her book online. I ordered it for myself and decided to share it with my children. I saw from her interactions with the young ladies at the workshop that it is never too early to instill values, pride and positive affirmations in our youth. Each night my 5 year old children and I read one of Meleny’s “truths” and discuss what it means to them and apply it to their lives. One that my son was excited about and continues to talk about it how “his words are powerful.” He has seen this manifest in his simple day to day experiences and the things he speaks into existence. We have started the book all over and it has become a part of their bedtime routine, as well as in my daily life. It is a great daily inspirational read. I love it!
